Season Two

July 29, 2008

I’m hard at work putting the recipes together for season two of Cooking With Keitha and am therefore in the middle of recipe testing! This of course makes my husband smile, but not always my children. The palates of my three year old children are not the same and neither are the sames as those of the grownups in the house!

It is always very flattering and somewhat surprising to have people tell me they enjoy the show. I had no idea so many people watched local cable. Just this past weekend, while at a bridal shower for someone I don’t know (she’s marrying into the family – brave girl) a woman approached me to say she watches every week. Given that there were only 8 episodes last season that is more than flattering.

I won’t post the recipes today but they will be posted after the air dates in the fall. Changes to the show this year include some very cool field trips that feature local farmers and food related guests. I cannot wait to for you to see some of the amazingly talented farmers in our area!

Our lineup of shows this year include recipes featuring seasonal ingredients, heritage vegetables, organic beef, lamb, quick cooking meals, honey and more!

I’m Here!

July 22, 2008

Well, as most of you know from my last newsletter at Your Personal Chef, after five years, I’ve decided to move on and try something new. I’ll be starting a job totally unrelated to the food industry in any way/shape/form on August 7 – but this blog is all about the food (or food related things) so we won’t get into that here.

What we will discuss on this blog are food, recipes, restaurants, wines, meals I’ve tried, meals I want to try, food my kids actually eat and foods they used to eat but now don’t. I might digress here and there, but I will do my best to keep non food things in a non food blog.

For those of you still looking for newsletters, recipes and general ramblings, this is the place to find all of the goodies that were added on at Your Personal Chef. For those of you looking for a personal chef, my good friend Monique Choueiri is my highly recommended choice if you’re looking for a traditional service and my new acquaintance Jana Miller is doing a very cool thing in the Cornwall/Long Sault area called Fresh Lunch Ideas.

There’ll be lots more to come but feel free to go back to past issues of ‘the thymes’ if you need a fix right now.
